Frequently Asked Questions About Desserts

How far in advance do I need to place my order?

We strongly suggest orders are placed a minimum of 3 weeks prior to your event date to allow time for correspondences prior to receiving your invoice/payment instructions. Orders must be placed a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the event date. Requests made within less than 4 days of the event date will be charged a $15 Rush Order Fee should we be able to accommodate the order.

How do I place an order?

Just fill out our Order Questionnaire once you have decided on what you’d like and we will reply to you within 24-48 business hours.

I’ve emailed my order, what’s next?

Please allow 24-48 business hours for our reply. If your order is clear, we will send you an invoice with deposit/payment instructions. Once your deposit/payment has been received, you will receive a confirmation email and your order will be added to our baking schedule. Please Note: Deposits/Payments will secure a slot on our baking schedule.

What is your payment policy? What forms of payment are accepted?

Orders under $100 require full payment at time of order confirmation. Orders over $100 require a 50% deposit at time of order confirmation with the remaining balance due 1 week prior to event date. Any order placed within 1 week of event date will require full payment at time of order confirmation. We accept: Cash, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa and PayPal. NO PERSONAL CHECKS.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Cancellations must be made within a minimum of 72 hours (3 days) prior to pick-up/delivery date to receive a 50% refund of deposit/payment. Orders cancelled within less than 72 hours prior to pick up will not be given a refund.

Is delivery available? Is shipping available?

Yes, however delivery is currently only available to the Baltimore Metro Area at this time. Delivery fees start at $10 for a minimum of 3 dozen. Currently shipping is not available for our desserts.

Do you make 3-D or sculpted cakes?

No. We know to stay in the cupcake/layer cake ‘lane’ and to leave that type of work to the professionals that we admire. However we do offer custom cupcakes and fondant covered mini cakes.

Do you offer buttercream sheet cakes with fondant decorations?

At this time we do not. In order for the buttercream to have a smooth appearance, it requires the addition of ‘shortening’ to be added. The addition of shortening goes against our practice of using fresh ingredients (preservative- free) to create our desserts.

I’m getting married. Can you make my wedding cake?

As with the sculpted cakes, we know to ‘stay in our cupcake lane’…however we do offer the option of a cupcake tower. This option offers the combination of a decorated 6″ or 8″ cake topper (depends on the tower’s top tier) and cupcakes for your guests.

I saw mini cupcakes in a few of your event photos, can I order them?

Currently we do not offer minis as a menu option. We bake them for sampling purposes only when we’re vending at an event.

Do you offer vegan, gluten-free or sugar-free desserts?

No, at this time we do not offer vegan, gluten or sugar-free desserts.

How long will my desserts stay fresh? How should I store my cupcakes/cakes?

Because our desserts are made with all natural (preservative-free) ingredients, we encourage you to enjoy them at their freshest, on the day of purchase. We recommend that you store your cupcakes/cakes at room temperature. If you plan to keep your desserts longer than two days, plastic wrap the bakery box or place them in an airtight container.

Can I put my cupcakes/cake in the fridge? What about freezing?

Our rule is to never put cupcakes/cakes in the fridge. The fridge is designed to pull moisture from food as to preserve it longer, therefore you may find your cakes will dry out.Cupcakes with buttercream icing will last 1 -2 days at room temperature in an air tight container (not the bakery box). Cupcakes with cream cheese icing can be placed in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 1 -2 days. (remember the fridge will dry out the cake the longer it’s stored)

Although we have never experimented with freezing our desserts, we tend to believe that any of our desserts that do not contain fresh fruit would freeze well. You can freeze them for up to 10 days. To thaw, leave them at room temperature for 2-3 hours before serving.
